Henrie Haldane Online Exhibition
You may remember Henrie Haldane’s uplifting & vibrant canvases from our exhibition last summer called ‘BLOOM’. We curated this floral art exhibition under our ‘4WALLS’ brand. We held exciting events at the gallery, including a collaboration with The DecorCafe.
01 June - 30 June 2020
I had planned to exhibit Haldane’s work again this summer at an exhibition titled ‘COLOUR’. A further Decorcafe collaboration was planned with colour expert and author of ‘A Little Book of Colour’, Karen Haller.
This exhibition of course had to be postponed. And so whilst this British artist continues to work in isolation in her studio in Mallorca, I thought you would enjoy an online art exhibition of some of Haldane’s most recent work. I hope that you find it as uplifting as I do.
Best known for her highly textural canvases, Haldane’s work continually evolves, resulting in an eclectic series of paintings full of depth, passion and emotion. Her paintings are a constant exploration of colour and light. References to nature and its elements, and how we connect with these, runs through her work.
Haldane’s most recent collection is an exciting culmination of her earlier works and more recent abstract pieces. Though abstract, these new works reflect her original dramatic sea and landscapes. However now using a brighter palette, inspired by her Mediterranean surrounding, these canvases take a far more uplifting tone. The paintings are filled with vibrant colour, positivity and energy – just perfect for lifting our spirits during this lockdown!
Haldane works with oils and mixed media, building up the layers of colour and depth into her canvases. Metallic leaf is also weaved in to intensify the composition, resulting in her highly textural paintings.
