Nicole Rose's oil paintings explore the emotional response to the natural world around her. She paints abstract and ethereal landscapes in the space between reality and daydream.

The artist primarily creates these abstract images based on the landscapes around her.  She records sights, sounds and colours before returning to the studio to record her visual memories.  Painting in oils, Nicole layers and blends various shapes of colours, to recreate this emotional response to the starting image of a place she has been.  The finished oil paintings take on a truly ethereal quality.
