Luke Maund creates bold, vibrant abstract paintings.

“A family bereavement inspired me to reconnect with my artistic roots and my work evolved as a response. I transitioned from a traditional approach to this bold abstract style that feels incredibly personal to me. Life can be so complicated and messy, that’s why I try to achieve an element of simplicity in my work. To bring a nugget of clarity into an otherwise chaotic world; I hope the viewer finds some comfort in the paintings. Producing something positive that others may enjoy has brought me peace.”

Luke Maund's unique aesthetic is achieved through unconventional acrylic pouring techniques, working the paints across wooden panels. The artist chooses bold & vibrant colours, selecting only a few per painting to contrast yet compliment each other. The works are then finished and sealed with resin.

Luke Maund studied Fine Art at Cheltenham College before going on to Farnham University to achieve a Fine Art Degree and then Digital Film Production BA at Ravensbourne University. He now works from his studio in West London.
